I just saw it at my favorite theatre Wald9 in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
I love burlesque and I love Christina Aguilera. So I love the movie. Yet..
The scene where Cher sings was totally unneeded.
The love complication of Ali and Jack could have been smarter.
And, more importantly, I expected more burlesque-ish songs.
But the movie started with an Etta James classic sung by Aguilera. That was awesome!
Lastly, I wish there was more Alan Cumming. He looked so fit in the movie's atmosphere.
If you're not into either in burlesque or Aguilera I'm not expecting you to be excited about this movie.
Dear God.. all that glamour and glitter for 2 hours. Back to real life again.
PS: But don't be fooled by all that razzle dazzle. I'm still giving it a 5 out of 10 on imdb. Chicago (2002) by Rob Marshall is the god of this genre.
